AI and paid visibility

Updated October 19, 2026

AI research requires consent and a connected service. Do not enter confidential information. Responses can be wrong; check the linked sources. Sponsored suggestions include only relevant active Featured and Premium subscribers. Payment is not an endorsement of competence.

Accounts, reports and promotions

AI research requires a registered, signed-in account. We record registration dates, account contact details, selected practice and province, completed-answer counts and payment or credit events. Administrators see these usage details, not your private answer text or encrypted messages. Administrators may grant free trial credit or issue limited-use coupons. Coupons can be redeemed once per account before their deadline while available. Redeemed complimentary credit does not expire, has no cash value, and does not automatically start a paid subscription.

Introductory answer and clarification

Each registered account may claim one complimentary introductory answer without a card. This is a one-time credit, not a subscription. Each completed briefing includes one short clarification of the existing answer, up to 600 characters, with up to three attempts if the service fails. Clarifications do not perform fresh legal research and are saved privately with your account. A different legal question needs a new research request. Select lawyer questions before exporting your consultation pack; selections are for the current view.

Paid AI research

AI research uses prepaid credit at CAD $1 per completed answer, with a CAD $10 minimum top-up. Credit is added after payment verification. A question reserves CAD $1 while processing; a failed attempt releases the reservation. Completed answers are saved privately to your account and can be reopened without another charge. Print, download and sharing actions export the information you choose; review recipients before sharing. For billing or refund questions, contact support with your payment reference.

Submitting a research question

Use a general question and select the relevant province and practice. Remove names, identifying details, client records and confidential facts. When the research provider is connected, your submitted question is sent to that provider to produce a sourced response.

Checking the answer

AI output may omit context or misinterpret a source. Read the linked source and check jurisdiction, date and whether the information applies to your situation. Do not rely on an AI response to calculate a deadline, decide litigation strategy or replace advice from a qualified lawyer.

Office suggestions

Paid recommendations are limited to relevant active Featured and Premium offices. The selection is a directory visibility feature, not an independent assessment of legal skill or the best lawyer for you. Compare options and confirm suitability directly.
